"This project expanded an existing political-science building by 35,000 square feet. The renovations were done according to the guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council. In addition to using recycled steel and other recycled materials, the project included a system to save energy by monitoring and adjusting fresh air entering the building, as well as special parking spaces for carpool and alternative-fuel vehicles.
