The new 340,000 SF high school will serve a spectrum of academic and community functions. The flexible plan incorporates an emergency preparedness center, a community arts center with auditorium seating for 750, a wireless campus, a cable television studio, a field house that boasts separate gymnastic and wrestling areas, and a 2,500 seat stadium adorned with press box and turf field. This high performance building is LEED certified and is the recipient of 2 MTC grants totaling $650,000. A portion of the funding came from utility rebates, which resulted in additional DOE points for sustainable design. Other sustainable initiatives include; 3,000 SF of PV’s, instructional kiosks, 100,000 gallon gray water tank along with two PC 25, 200 kilowatt fuel cells for powering all core facilities.
